Sony a6000 shutter count plus#
I got 5 cycles or 49,995 images plus the latest image number of the current cycle of 8,620 which ends up in an overall number of shutter actuations of 58,615. Then I crosschecked with a search in the Windows Explorer by entering "DSC001" in the search field to check the number of cycles again. At the crossing point I checked with the date if I could not have missed an entire cycle of 9999 images. I sorted all images in this folder by "original date" and looked how often I jumped to a new cycle of 9999 images. I chose one folder which I've created for images of street vendors where I collect images on a regular base. Well known is that the camera is writing file names from 000001 to 09999 and then starting again with 000001. So how did I came to the number of shutter actuations.

I use LR as well, but keep only certain images in RAW format like night shots or very good images of animals or portraits. If I would start from the Windows Explorer and check my Sony A6000 main folder I'd just see 25,000 images I've kept. I have an Alpha 6000 since April 2014 and till today the shutter has been released 58,615 times.
Sony a6000 shutter count how to#
10^6 seems like the natural place for this reset, but that seems impossibly high to me.ĭoes anybody have any guesses? It seems like Sony is pretty hush-hush on even the expected shutter life, so I'm not sure how to check this.Īny help is greatly appreciated! Many thanks. That leaves me with two options: either I significantly overestimate my shooting and that number is correct, or I've somehow crossed a magic reset number, like on an old car's odometer, at which point the counter started over at 0 again. However, two different websites both gave me 50,068 as the number. 100k? 200k? 300k? Even that seemed not entirely unreasonable. Here are examples when the filename does not indicate the true number of pictures taken with the camera. However, today I decided to see just how many I'd actually shot. Shutter Count For Sony A6000 Using numeric suffix of filenames written by the camera on a flash card is not equivalent to cameras shutter count (the suffix resets to 0 after 9999). I know that I've put a lot of shots on the body if that math was right, I should be at about 200k. My annual Lightroom catalogue generally ends up in the range of 20,000 final images, at a keep/delete rate of about 1/5 (or so I guessed). My camera has almost never been on anything other than 11 fps. In that time, I've shot many, many, many sporting events at my school, plus extensive theatre and just general shooting. I've had my A6000 since Black Friday, 2014. Anyways, it's good to be back, and I hope that this post might be as successful as my attempts in past groups.Īnyways. After learning almost everything I know about photography from some Nikon groups (back in my Black & Gold days), I've almost entirely dropped out. Well, it's been quite a while since I've been active in Flickr groups.
